Questions people ask before booking

Roughly what does it cost?

Photos get you a no-charge price ahead of any appointment. Should something unexpected show up mid-job, I check with you before continuing.

How quickly can you come out?

Tell me the job plus days you’re free, and I’ll text back the openings I have, Monday through Saturday.

Will you leave a mess?

No. I lay down covers first and haul off the old hardware and wrapping at the end.

Should I buy the part?

Up to you. I can supply common parts, or install the one you picked out.

It’s a rental. Can my tenant open up?

Yes. A tenant, a neighbor, a spare key or lockbox code is fine; mention it in the text.

Which payments work?

Most normal methods; just ask when the quote comes.

Handyman work in Rosemead, block by block

Rosemead is a city that has run out of open land. Its 2021–2029 Housing Element describes it as “almost completely built-out,” with an estimated 15,059 homes as of 2020, and says most new housing now comes as small infill projects inside neighborhoods that are already there. In practice that means most of the houses we walk into have been lived in for decades, and the repairs follow from that.

The housing is a mix. Single-story detached homes fill the residential streets, while the city’s planning has steered new apartments and mixed-use buildings toward its commercial corridors, including the Garvey Avenue Specific Plan area and the mixed-use overlay zones. Older single-family houses and newer infill units need different things from a handyman: the first tend to need worn parts replaced, and the second tend to need things hung, adjusted and finished after move-in.

Here is what that looks like on a typical week of Rosemead calls:

New wiring and moving plumbing are part of the work, and wall changes get a plan before we start. A photo by text is the fastest way to a free estimate.

He was quick to respond to questions I had regarding installing of my faucet. I would recommend him to anyone looking to great service, friendly attitude, and punctuality with time. Thanks Rick!
