In short
Flat-pack beds, dressers, desks, cribs and wardrobes are put together, leveled on your floor, and strapped to a wall stud if they are tall enough to tip. Have the boxes in the room they belong in and we handle the rest, including hauling the cardboard to your recycling bin.
Your photo checklist
- Each box, label side out
- The room and the spot for each piece
- The wall behind any tall piece
- The front page of each manual
- Anything that arrived cracked or bent
Covered on a Rosemead visit
- Dressers, nightstands, wardrobes and armoires
- Bed frames, bunk beds, lofts and headboards
- Desks, bookcases, TV stands and storage units
- Outdoor furniture, play sets and storage cabinets
- Tip-over anchoring into studs on every tall or drawer piece
- Wobbly older pieces tightened and loose joints reglued
Outside what we take on
- Cutting new openings or niches into a wall.
- Changes to load-bearing walls or new framing.
- Custom built-ins and new cabinet boxes.
Anchoring is part of the job
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s Anchor It! campaign puts it plainly: “Anchoring all furniture with drawers, doors, and shelves to the wall prevents tip-over injuries and deaths.” A federal rule on dresser stability took effect on September 1, 2023, but anchoring is still recommended, and it matters most in homes with young children or grandchildren visiting.
Walls in Rosemead houses from around the median build year of 1959 are usually drywall over wood studs, but older plaster and odd stud spacing turn up too. We locate framing before drilling and use a strap or bracket that reaches it.
How an assembly visit goes
Unpack and count
We open the boxes in the room the piece will live in, lay out the panels and sort the hardware against the parts list. Missing or damaged parts are found now, not halfway through.
Build square
Panels go together on a soft surface so finishes are not scratched. Cam locks and screws are snug, not overdriven, so particleboard holds. Cases are checked for square before the back panel goes on, since a racked case makes doors and drawers bind.
Level and anchor
We set the piece in place, level it on uneven floors, and fasten its anchor strap or bracket into a stud. Drawers and doors are adjusted so they close evenly, and all packing is broken down and bagged for recycling.
Walk-through
Before we leave, we open every drawer and door with you and show where the anchor is fastened, so it gets reattached if the piece is ever moved.
Bigger jobs, free estimate
We assemble boxed furniture and anchor it. Built-in cabinetry and custom carpentry are outside our scope. Anything that needs plumbing or wiring connected gets its own free estimate.
While we’re out for this, Rosemead customers often add furniture anchoring, TV wall mounting, shelf installation, outlet, switch and GFCI replacement or cabinet door and drawer repair.

Assembly questions
Can you put together a bed frame or desk?
Yes. Beds, desks, cribs and office chairs are common assembly jobs.

How much does furniture assembly cost in Rosemead?
Depends on pieces. Send links.

Do you assemble flat-pack furniture?
Yes, from most brands. We check the parts list first so a missing piece shows up before the build, not halfway through.

Can you take apart furniture for a move?
Yes. We disassemble flat-pack pieces, bag and label the hardware for each one, and rebuild them at the new place if it is in our area.
How long does assembly take?
It depends on the piece and the maker. Depends on the job; we’ll let you know after we see photos. Send the model numbers and we tell you what to expect before the visit.
Can you move a piece to another room after building it?
Yes, within the home. We often build in the room the piece will stay in, since large cases are easier to build in place than to carry through narrow hallways.
Do you assemble furniture from any store?
Yes. IKEA, Wayfair, Amazon, Costco and most other flat-pack brands use similar cam-lock and dowel systems, and we follow each maker’s instructions.
Do you bring tools and hardware?
Yes. We bring drivers, clamps and levels, plus wall anchoring straps if the kit did not include them.
Can you take the boxes and packing away?
Yes. We break down the cardboard and bag the packing so it is ready for your recycling bin.
Will you anchor a dresser I already own?
Yes. Anchoring existing dressers, bookcases and TVs is a simple add-on, and many families pair it with another job.
What if a part is missing or damaged?
We check the parts list before starting. If a piece is missing, we build what we can and tell you exactly which part to request from the maker.
Can you help with IKEA assembly?
Yes. IKEA beds, MALM dressers, PAX wardrobes and KALLAX shelves are regular jobs. We use the IKEA anti-tip hardware on anything tall and screw it into a stud.
Can you assemble a bed frame?
Yes. Metal and wood platform frames, storage beds and bunk beds are all fine. We check that the slats are seated and the bolts are tight, so it doesn’t creak later.
